The reform also provides for provincial health directorates and provincial hospitals. The government presents it as an adjustment to the new territorial divisions and municipal medical centres.

The framework abolishes SOGEMAB, the company responsible for biomedical equipment and maintenance, transferring its functions to a ministry directorate, according to Actualité.bf. Adoption of the organisational chart does not yet establish available resources or whether the new bodies have begun operating.
