ISM and UNESCO train future judges on AI challenges
The Higher Institute of Magistracy and UNESCO held a training day on AI and the rule of law for the 50th cohort of judicial trainees on 5 November 2026, according to French- and Arabic-language reports.
The training covers technology governance, generative and predictive tools, biometrics and facial recognition. Discussions also address personal data and fundamental freedoms.
ISM director Abdelhanine Touzani presents AI as technical assistance and calls for judges’ independence and fair-trial safeguards to be preserved. UNESCO representative Charaf Ahmimed highlights bias, discrimination and lack of transparency.
The meeting is located at Technopolis in the Rabat-Salé metropolitan area. It is a training activity; the sources do not describe deployment of an automated judicial decision system.
