Inkling 2 Small launches on Tinker with weights still closed
Thinking Machines launched Inkling 2 Small on Tinker on 5 November 2026. The model accepts text and images; its weights are not yet available for download.
The lab reports 594 billion parameters, with 17 billion active, and plans an Apache 2.0 release the following week after external safety tests. That release remains an announced step.
Artificial Analysis measures a score of 31 on its Intelligence Index. It also records 16.5 minutes per task, against a 7.3-minute median for similarly priced models. This places performance within a specific protocol and does not guarantee reliability in every use.
