Mezzour seeks more investment for less attractive industrial areas

Ryad Mezzour told Parliament on November 2, 2026, that he had instructed his ministry’s agencies to steer more investment towards less attractive industrial areas. He also favours mobilizing new land.

The minister put the number of developed and planned zones at 176, covering about 15,000 hectares, with an overall development rate of 62% and wide disparities.

He advocates using public resources to provide new land affordable to investors. These policy directions and ministerial figures do not yet demonstrate new industrial establishments or an actual reduction in regional gaps.
