European stock markets retreat at the 3 November close

The STOXX Europe 600 ended the 3 November 2026 session down about 0.6% at 645.66 points. London, Frankfurt and Paris also lost ground following the previous day’s gains.

Rounded figures reported by dpa put the FTSE 100 down 1.1%, the DAX down 0.5% and the CAC 40 down 0.3%. Markets were already lower at midday as traders awaited US election results, MT Newswires reported.

Reactions to company earnings differed sharply: dpa reported a 26.8% fall in TeamViewer after it cut its growth forecast, but gains of 3.9% for Lufthansa and 3.6% for Bayer. Individual shares therefore diverged substantially from the broader index movements.
