Reuters reports that the movement won 52.7% of the vote with almost 99% of ballots counted, against 39.2% for the Serbian Progressive Party-led alliance. The figures remain provisional and do not represent final certification of the election.
The victory follows almost two years of anti-corruption protests. European Union leaders have offered support for rule-of-law reforms. The makeup and policies of the next government remain to be established.
