The forward represents Malawi and plays for Kansas City Current in the United States. Reports describe her placement as the first top-ten finish in this award for a player representing an African national team.
The final position follows the initial announcement that she was among the ten remaining candidates. It concerns a global individual award, separate from continental honours; this account assigns no unverified points total to the player.
