South Africa: Tshwane reorganises emergency water deliveries

Tshwane municipality announced a reorganisation of tanker deliveries in Bronkhorstspruit on 26 October 2026 following water contamination. It plans nine tankers for Ekangala from 27 October; the unsafe-water advisory remains in force.

The city requires verification and authorisation for private distributors, including quality checks. Emergency storage tanks cleaned at clinics still await testing before use, according to its situation update.

Same-day reporting describes hundreds of consultations for gastrointestinal illness and the treatment plant's closure for rehabilitation. Emergency deliveries and announced works do not certify that network water is safe; the selected information establishes no firm restoration deadline.
