Yassine Bounou finishes eighth in the 2026 Yashin Trophy

Moroccan goalkeeper Yassine Bounou finished eighth in the Yashin Trophy in London on 26 October, according to reports by LeBrief, Le360 and LeSiteInfo.

Unai Simón won the best goalkeeper award, ahead of David Raya and Thibaut Courtois. Bounou, who plays for Al-Hilal and Morocco, was among the ten finalists.

LeBrief and Le360 recall that he finished fifth in 2025 and third in 2023, his highest position in this award. The published ranking concerns the goalkeeper trophy and should be distinguished from the men’s Ballon d’Or ranking.
