Google expands AI Mode ads to ten countries, including India and Nigeria

Google announced on 28 October 2026 that it is expanding AI Mode ads to Australia, Canada, India, Kenya, Malaysia, New Zealand, Nigeria, Pakistan, the Philippines and Singapore. In the United States, ads will also be able to appear in follow-up questions within a conversation.

Ads will carry the label “Sponsored,” Google says. Brazil, Mexico and the United Kingdom are planned for the fourth quarter of 2026, without a specific launch day.

Existing Search, Shopping and Performance Max campaigns can qualify; advertisers do not need a separate budget. Google does not allow advertisers to target only AI Mode or exclude it separately from Search campaigns, according to documentation presented by Unite.AI. Google's encouraging click-through figures come from its internal data and do not independently establish profitability.
