Interior Ministry seeks party proposals for 2027 election laws before 15 November

Morocco's Interior Ministry asked political parties to submit proposals on election legislation before 15 November 2026, at a meeting held on the afternoon of 29 October, according to its statement reported by Hespress.

The consultations concern municipal, provincial and regional councils, professional chambers, employee representatives and the House of Councillors. The meeting followed talks the previous day with parties represented by parliamentary groups or groupings.

The ministry envisages reusing electoral integrity measures applied to the 23 September legislative elections, according to the statement. Written proposals will inform potential amendments, which must subsequently follow the legislative process. The consultation therefore constitutes neither adopted new rules nor an announcement of precise polling dates.
