Singapore: DayOne studies a battery virtual power plant around its data centre

DayOne and Blue Whale Energy announced a memorandum on 30 October 2026 to study a virtual power plant in Singapore. It would coordinate batteries at DayOne’s planned SG1 data centre with storage at commercial and industrial sites.

The partners want to adjust grid demand at peak times as cloud and AI workloads grow. The study will examine storage configuration, safety, metering and control systems.

Participation in demand-response and interruptible-load programmes will be assessed subject to market rules and approvals. The memorandum is non-binding; it is neither a construction decision nor evidence of electricity capacity already available.
