Beijing and Muscat announce new cooperation agreements

China and Oman announced new cooperation documents on 2 November 2026 during Sultan Haitham bin Tarik’s state visit to Beijing. The Omani ruler held talks with Xi Jinping at the Great Hall of the People.

China’s foreign ministry lists industrial and supply chains, green development and digital finance among the areas covered by the signed documents. The countries also issued a statement on deepening their strategic partnership.

Omani accounts report one agreement and 14 memorandums and protocols witnessed by the leaders. The signatures establish cooperation frameworks; they do not yet demonstrate implementation or financing of each project.
