US becomes Nepal’s largest tourist source market in October

Nepal received 132,814 international tourists in October 2026, up 3.4% from a year earlier, according to tourism-board figures released on 2 November. The United States ranked first with 17,437 visitors.

India followed with 12,097 visitors, ahead of China with 11,695. US arrivals rose from 13,286 in October 2025, while arrivals from India fell from 17,298.

The Kathmandu Post obtained the tourism board’s reaction, which described the US ranking first as unprecedented. These figures describe monthly arrivals; they measure neither visitor spending nor tourism revenue.
