Dubai reports response to experimental treatment in infant with epilepsy

A team at King’s College Hospital London in Dubai announced on 2 November 2026 that an infant’s seizures had stopped after experimental treatment. The case concerns a dose given on 14 September; the individual outcome remains attributed to the treating team.

According to the medical account carried by ARN, the child experienced around 110 seizures daily despite seven treatment approaches. Following genetic diagnosis, the team obtained ABS-1230 through compassionate access, working with federal and Dubai health authorities.

Doctors report that seizures stopped within thirty minutes of the first dose and that the child left hospital a week later. The medicine remains experimental and is being studied in clinical trials. Follow-up of a single patient cannot establish its general effectiveness or the durability of the response.
