CDT and UNTM call on Morocco's new government to revisit strike law
Officials from the CDT and UNTM called on Morocco's government to reopen dialogue on Organic Law 97.15 governing strikes, in statements published by Hespress on 30 October 2026.
Mohamed El Hattati, a member of the Democratic Confederation of Labour's executive bureau, maintains the demand to withdraw the legislation. He argues that its provisions restrict trade union rights. That assessment is the union's position.
Abdelilah Dahmane, deputy secretary-general of the National Union of Labour in Morocco, calls for negotiated changes to conditions, procedures and penalties, alongside a timetable for talks. Both positions come from interviews by the same outlet. They establish neither a government commitment nor an enacted legislative change.
